Glass products are very delicate in nature and it is very tough to clean these objects regularly. Therefore, the owners like to use some effective polishing agents for occasional maintenance of these items. Since it is simple to use these additives on the glass surfaces, everyone now prefers to buy these liquid or powdered chemicals for polishing their mirrors, window panes or other glass artifacts.

Useful procedures for the applications of glass polishing additives

Generally, a squeegee or Hog’s Hair pad or cotton ball is used for polishing any glass item. This squeegee or pad is dipped into the selected polishing liquid or paste, which is spread evenly over the entire glass surface. The chemicals used as glass polishing additives do not cause any harm to the glass objects or the hands of the users.

As the pad dipped in polishing agent is moved from top to bottom of a glass surface, all the excess liquid is wiped off with a clean cloth. The narrow corners are polished with a cotton swab dipped in the polishing additives.

Finally, all the chemicals are carefully cleaned off the glass surface, leaving the sparkling glass surfaces as they were when newly purchased.

Few common household glass polishing materials generally used

White toothpaste is a common material that is used for polishing simple glass items in many houses. Little amount of toothpaste is spread in circular motion with a piece of soft cloth, for polishing flat glass surfaces. But gel toothpaste is of no use for this purpose.

Dilute white vinegar or acetic acid is another household item that is preferred for natural cleansing effect and antibacterial quality. This chemical is mixed with lukewarm water and applied with cotton balls on glass items..

Metal polishing agents are also used as glass polishing materials to free the glass surfaces from all stains and scratch marks. Very small amount of metal polish is needed for rubbing with a cloth on a cleaned glass surface.

The simplicity of using polishing reagents helps the common people in keeping their glass objects as good as new.
